                                                                 Magura Sadar Upazila boundary at a glance: This upazila is bounded on the north by some parts of Jhenaidah district and Sreepur upazila, on the east by some parts of Faridpur district and Mohammadpur upazila, on the south and south west by Shalikha upazila and on the west by Jhenaidah Sadar upazila. Within this boundary, some parts of the Madhumati river and most of the Nabganga river touch the eastern boundary of the upazila and separate Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur district and Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district from this upazila. To the south and south-west, the Phatki river separates Shalikha upazila from Magura Sadar upazila. These rivers are Madhumati, Nabaganga and Phatki.

Hats and bazars: The total number of hats / bazars in Magura Sadar upazila is 39. These hats / bazaars are sold from the Upazila Parishad through tender for one year from 1st Baishakh to 30th Chaitra as per Bangla Hat according to the Hat-Bazar lease policy. The leased money is deposited in the respective sector as per the policy divisions.

Roads: Total roads in this upazila are 623 km. Among them B.C. Road 16 km, HBB 22 km and unpaved road 433 km. All the unions are connected to the upazila through paved roads. All Union Parishads can be reached by jeep in winter from Upazila Sadar. However, in case of internal communication of the union, it is not possible to travel by jeep during the monsoon season. Although the communication system is quite good, most of the roads are unpaved.

Ferry Ghat: There is no significant ferry market in Magura Sadar Upazila.

Rivers: 3 (Fatki river, Kumar river and Nabganga river).

The Chirchena calm rivers Kumar, Nabaganga and Phatki satisfy the fish shortage of the people of the region and satisfy the craving for boating.

Canals: There are 11 canals: 1) Guedha Canal, 2) Sumuria Canal, 3) Barai Canal, 4) Alamkhali Canal, 5) Haorkhali Canal, 6) Hajipur-Dwariyapur Canal, 6) Narankhali Canal, 6) Sankochkhali Canal, 9) Muchikhali canal, 10) Bagdanga canal, 11) Magura diversion canal.

Wide Bills: 1,024 hectares in Jagdal Union, 979 hectares in Kuchiamora Union, 713 hectares in Chaulia Union, 724 hectares in Moghi Union, 503 hectares in Gopalgram Union, 4 hectares in Shatrujitpur. , 105 hectares in Magura Municipality, 61 hectares in Hajrapur Union, 21 hectares in Kachundi Union with a total of 5640 hectares of wide land. The bills are usually sloping towards the center. During the rainy season it is flooded for 6/7 months. During the flood the depth is more than 90 cm but less than 180 cm. Deep water transplanted aman and boro paddy are mainly cultivated here. The bills are being filled, many bills have already been filled. The bills felt the need to be dug up and properly maintained. It is possible to reduce the fish demand of the local people to some extent.

Besides, there are medium low lands in the upazila - 461 hectares in Raghabdair union, 17 hectares in Hajil union, 130 hectares in Beril Polita union, 125 hectares in Chaulia union, 5 hectares in Atharkhada union and 5 hectares in Gora. 44 hectares, 42 hectares in Hajrapur Union, 6 hectares in Shatrujitpur Union, 6 hectares in Maghi Union and the rest belong to lower class. Low lands are submerged for more than 6 months. The depth of submergence is more than 180 cm. Aman and rabi crops (khesari) are planted in Kharipkhand in about 5% of the land in the area. Boro is cultivated in about 90 percent of the land. The remaining 5 percent is uncultivated due to water bodies. If the reservoirs are renovated, the possibility of fish farming is bright.

Inadequate beel: 54 hectares in Moghi Union, 33 hectares in Hajipur Union, 11 hectares in Atharkhada Union, 4 hectares in Gopalgram Union. Ropa-aman in the second kharif ditch and rabi crops in the rabi ditch in about 5 percent of the land; Boro in Rabikhande alone on 80 per cent of the land; Rabi grain in the second kharipkhand in 10 percent of the land; Aman and rabi crops sown in Kharipkhand are cultivated in 20 per cent of the land and deep water transplanted aman is cultivated in the remaining 5 per cent of the land.
